This half term in guided reading, we have been focussing on texts with a theme of football. This week, we have been looking at a poem called 'The Goalie with Expanding Hands'. Within the lessons, children looked at key vocabulary within the text and answered retrieval and inference questions. Each day, the children have read the poem and today, we have performed them. Have a look to watch some of the children read the poem.
In P.E this half term, the children have been looking at the skills needed to play cricket. This included batting, bowling and fielding. Today, we have played a mini game of cricket to showcase all the skills we have learnt. The children were grouped into teams and played against each other to see if which team could score the most runs. The children were able to follow the rules of the game and they played really well. Have a look at the games below. |
