Shadows

The science topic, in Year 6, is light. The children have learned that light appears to travel in straight lines and have began to investigate how shadows are formed. The children found that shadows are formed when an opaque object blocks a beam/ray of light. Through further investigation, the children discovered that the length of a shadow varies depending on the location of the light source. This helped us to understand our own shadows and their position at different times during the day.
