This week we had a Platinum Jubilee party to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee! We started the afternoon by making our own crowns, the children really enjoyed making and drawing on their Jubilee crowns. After this, we played musical statues to some Jubilee music and played pin the crown on the Queen. We finished the afternoon by watching a Jubilee Movie and having some snacks! We had a really fun afternoon and loved celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!

We have had a fantastic day today focussing on Design and Technology.  Throughout the day, we have looked at two different aspects of life in Ancient Egypt.
During the morning we learnt about what a cartouche was and what they were used for.  We then designed our own version with our names in hieroglyphics and used clay to make them!
In the afternoon we learnt about how people in Ancient Egypt used a shaduf to collect water from the River Nile.  We carefully measured and cut wooden dowel using a hacksaw before experimenting with different ways to fasten them together.

This week in Music, we finished our music topic. 
We have been learning how to sing and play the Glockenspiel to 'The Dragon Song'.
The children have really enjoyed learning this song and this really showed in their amazing performance this week!

To start our next art unit on Egyptian Landscapes, we have been looking at primary, secondary and tertiary colours.
