Today, we took part in a special workshop by Barnsley Schools Catering where we learnt about the importance of healthy eating. To begin, we tried a range of different fruits and decided together on a combination of complimentary flavours to make a smoothie. We then came up with a name for our smoothies, drew a bottle design and tasted them. We then presented our smoothie and allowed the rest of the other groups to try them. As a class we voted on our favourite smoothies and the winner took him a prize!
In our science lesson this week, we have been learning some of the real names for the bones in our skeletons. We had great fun labelling the bones on some brave volunteers!
In our outdoor PE sessions this half term, we are learning the skills of hockey. The children all did a fantastic job last week at practising the correct way to hold a hockey stick and have done even better today when dribbling a ball in and out of cones in different directions. We will continue to develop our hockey skills over the next three weeks where we will complete push passes whilst aiming at a target, trap a ball which is rolled and using a partner to be able to pass and trap a ball correctly between each other.
