In R.E last week, we have been talking about bullying. In this week's lesson, we have wrote some bullying poems and a few of us felt confident to read theirs out to the class. Have a look below to see Y3's work. Last half term, we looked at writing and reading diary entries with a focus on Hansel and Gretel. Within this, the children read examples of diary entries within guided reading to support their learning on the format of a diary. Then, the children wrote two diary entries in the perspective of the mean step mother. This was a guided piece of writing which focussed on using fronted adverbials. After a couple of weeks of learning about diaries, the children were given an opportunity to write their own diary entry as a different character within Hansel and Gretel. The children were given options of what they could write about but ultimately, the piece of work was written and edited without any support. When they had finished, I was completely amazed at what they came up with so the children have finally written their diaries into their masterpiece books.
