This term, year 2 have learnt lots about plants! They have also used some fundraising money raised from the Easter Raffle to do lots of planting this term, so THANK YOU. This term they have planted sunflowers, beans and narcissus bulbs. They took their bean plants home to look after but we have been monitoring the sunflowers and bulbs in school and WOW! They have grown so much. Every day the children are looking forward to watering and caring for their plants and we have measured the plants every week to monitor their progress. However it has been a good lesson for the children to see that some seeds have grown slower than others and that despite caring for the plants in the same way, every plant is different.
We have been so impressed with how much the children have enjoyed this Science unit and some have even been inspired to plant more at home which is brilliant. Here are some photos of the plants we are growing in school, they are growing so tall! Comments are closed.
