This week the children wrote their own independent instructions on how to make a fruit skewer. Today they followed their own instructions to make their own! Year 2 loved working out how many pieces of fruit we needed to cut and why fruit is so vital to our diet to give us a variety of vitamins and keep our bodies healthy. Although they all agreed that eating the skewer at the end was the best bit!
Today, year 2 went on a school trip to the Old Moor RSPB site. All the teachers were impressed with how well the children listened and took part in the activities. During the day we did some pond dipping where we discovered and classified minibeasts and creatures living in the pond. Then we also looked at plants on the site and discovered both common and rare flowers and trees. The children had a brilliant day!
