This half term year 2 have been inspired to write poetry. Earlier in the term we learnt a class poem about Autumn and this inspired them to write their own. The children spent a lesson thinking about everything they would expect to find during the season which is red, yellow, brown and orange. Then they wrote and performed their own poetry. They were brilliant! Here are some of the poems performed, I will be uploading more soon!

Our topic in Science this half term has been everyday materials. Last week we designed a boat out of limited materials we had in our classroom. This week we made our boat models and tested them on the water outside. We found out that all of our boats could float for 10 seconds on the water but the boats that were made from thicker materials (such as egg boxes and card) lasted the longest. The children really enjoyed testing their boats and are looking forward to designing a real boat next week!
