This week we had the fantastic opportunity to take part in an antisocial behaviour workshop.
we all learnt lots of new things about what is legal and what isn't, how our behaviour can impact on others and what exactly antisocial behaviour might look like. These 4 children were picked out for their amazing contributions to the workshop! Year 4, 5 and 6 had a fantastic time last night at our Halloween fun night. We played games, had 'dress the best mummy' competition, skeleton picture contests, lots of snacks, music and much more! It was fantastic seeing all the children in their best Halloween outfits - even the really scary ones!
Today, we went on a school trip to experience life as a Viking Settler. Our trip allowed us to practically experience what it would have been to live in the era of the Vikings. We spent the day living as settlers and had to learn how to defend our land as warriors. We also collected and grew crops taking on the role of farmers and learnt how to make our own bread; as well as entertain ourselves with Viking board games. We even had a go at making our own oil lamps in the pottery shed as well as taking it in turns to be on guard duty to ensure our village didn’t get attacked! We all had a fantastic day and the children in Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed living as Viking settlers for the day!
This afternoon, we have the fantastic opportunity to take part in the Ramp It Up session! We had an amazing time on BMX bikes and scooters going over a variety of ramps. It was lovely to see the confidence grow in all the children and their smiles said it all. I hope I managed to get a photo of everyone!
Year 5 are archaeologists! We turned into archaeologists today! In our topic lesson, we looked at different primary and secondary sources from the Anglo Saxon times. In groups, we recorded our ideas and thoughts on large sheets of paper. We thought carefully about whether the artefact was a primary or secondary source and what questions it raises about the Anglo Saxons.
We will be using the ideas we collected today next week in order to draw conclusions about Anglo Saxons, their settlements and their daily lives. |
