Our new outdoor PE topic this half term is Hockey. Despite the cold weather this week, we managed to get outside and had a fantastic lesson practicing various dribbling techniques- including Indian dribbling. The children really impressed me with their control and accuracy when using a hockey stick and we played several mini games to practice these skills and techniques throughout the lesson. This half term, our art focus is called 1 animal, 4 views. The children will be using sketching pencils to draw an animal of their choice from 4 different perspectives. They will have to use tools such as crop and zoom in order to create different views, using shape, tone and line to really focus on detail. Over the next 6 weeks we will be building on various drawing techniques in order to create a finished masterpiece. I am so excited to see what these will look like as finished pieces as some of the drawings and detail created within the first lesson just absolutely blew me away! |
