For the past few weeks, Year 6 have been designing model Anderson shelter. They have researched Anderson shelters that were issued during WW2 and have studied how they were made and their size. From this knowledge, they have designed and created their own models. The children have made the frame of the Anderson from wood so have had to saw wood to particular dimensions and then use joining methods to construct a solid frame. After this stage, they have used cardboard and other materials to create the sides and roof of the shelter; they have even put beds and furniture inside. The Anderson shelters are ALMOST complete so we will be uploading the finished products shortly. Watch this space.
