Today, year 4 looked at completing some different rolls. We initially looked at a forward roll which is actually part of the Year 3 curriculum. This helped us to gain confidence to be able to complete the Year 4 version which is a forward roll over a bench. The children really impressed me today and even though not everybody got onto the forward roll over the bench, everybody improved in their techniques and confidence. We also looked at completing a teddy bear roll which is a Year 2 objective but we are going to develop this into a paired teddy bear roll. Next week, we are going to look at some individual balances so stay tuned for more photographs.
Today, Mrs Frostick completed the cold task for Music. The children had to sing "Ho Down". This was one of the first times they had completed it, so it will be great to see the comparison by the end of the block. I hope we might even be able to have some dance moves included!
Today, we have been learning about Ancient Greek warfare. We are waiting to go on our trip to wear some of the proper items so for now, we had to improvise. We had our fantastic volunteer below who came up. Can you spot the following items?
Spear Cuirass Linen Tunic Sword Shield Bronze Helmet Next week, we are going to look at the importance of the bronze age on all of these items and what would have happened if this period of time had never taken place. |
