On Tuesday, we went to Leeds City Museum to learn about the Ancient Romans. It was a fantastic day out and the children were able to learn a lot of interesting facts in an extremely interactive manner. The children were very well behaved and it was a pleasure to have them on the trip. The guide was very impressed with the learning that our children had taken part in as the children were able to answer a variety of questions. Well done to you all!

Year 4 have been performing poetry for the past two days. We have been reading James and The Giant Peach as part of our novel study and one of the objectives on our writing curriculum says, "To rehearse poems for presentation and performance." Therefore, we could not miss the opportunity to perform the Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker poem within chapter 2. The children did really well and should be really proud of their performances. Recently, we have had a huge push on reading aloud (individually, paired and echo reading) and this has had a positive impact on our performances today.
Today, we had a visitor to talk to us about road safety. It was really fun and interesting. Our children were able to complete a lot of different activities including drama and quizzes which made it really interactive.
