As part of our learning about old and new toys, the children brought their own teddies into class on Wednesday - they had a fab day. The children painted them, introduced them to their friends, read to them and showed them around the classroom. Some of the teddies were new and some were older; they even belonged to the children's parents.
In Maths, we have been working hard to show numbers on our fingers - we have been working on showing numbers the quickest way. This week, we have learnt how to show 6 and 7 too. We know 6 is 5 and 1 more and 7 is 5 and 1 more. We have been learning about life in the past from reading our key text 'Peepo'. We have been using a big information book to find out more. We particularly enjoyed learning that toilets used to be in a hut outside because homes didn't have all of the pipes for bathrooms. Imagine going to the cold, damp toilet outside in the middle of the night!!!!! I love how children are practising reading with their friends. The children will make very good teachers one day!
