Year 6 had an AMAZIING time at Eden Camp. Firstly, the children's behaviour was absolutely incredible and they represented our school brilliantly. It was a pleasure to take them. Throughout the day, all groups were totally engrossed in the learning about World War II and they asked fantastic questions and gained new knowledge from engaging in this visit. Overall, it was a tremendous day!
A big well done goes to our Year 5/6 football team who yesterday took part in their first competitive football match of the year. It was a huge learning curve for us and we learnt a lot from the match itself. It definitely wasn't the result that we were hoping for but there are a lot of areas that we are able to work on. We will come back stronger in our next match and Mr Morton already has some good ideas to help us develop our skills moving forward.
In science, the Year 6 children are learning all about the circulatory system. We have learned about the heart, blood vessels and blood. To help the children to remember the components of blood, they have made blood using simple household ingredients to represent; red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. The children really enjoyed this practical activity and can confidently explain what blood is made up of and the functions of each component.
Year 6 are trying their very best to learn the recorder. So far, we have learned to play notes , B, A, G, C and D. We are now currently trying to play these notes together to create a tune. Hopefully, with plenty of practice, this will become another fantastic skill that these amazing children learn at school. You never know, we might even share what we learn with an audience eventually.
