Today, we welcomed a special visitor to speak with us about Remembrance Day. Our session began by a quick quiz about WW2, we then discussed the collective effort during wartime, highlighting the important roles that people from all walks of life took on—including pastors and ministers. One story that captured our attention was that of Pastor Donald Caskie, a remarkable figure who made a difference during the war. His courageous contributions reminded us of the incredible ways in which people helped to support and protect others in the most challenging of times. We finished our session by looking at two poems, Revolver and Not Missing, which showed us the deep and lasting impacts of war on individuals and families. It was an inspiring and thoughtful session that deepened our appreciation for the spirit of remembrance and helped us understand how everyone, regardless of their role, can make a positive contribution to society, inspiring us to do the same in our own lives.
