This half term, our focus in art has been printing. We have learnt about a famous artist called William Morris and the ways in which he used print to create many different pieces of art and patterns. Over the last few weeks, we have experimented with different printing techniques such as monoprint, relief print and stamp print. We wanted to use one of these techniques to create a piece of festive Christmas wrapping paper and we decided stamp print would be the most appropriate to use for this task. The children spent time designing their Christmas stamps, creating them using string, glue and cardboard and then finally used a range of coloured paint to create their wrapping paper. Have a look at the photographs below to see us busy creating our masterpieces!
