This week, our amazing Year 4 children rolled up their sleeves and headed out into the local community to take part in a very special project – litter picking to help the environment. The children were full of enthusiasm and energy, and their determination really paid off. By the end of the two hours, the group had managed to collect an incredible 10 huge bags of litter! Everyone was shocked by just how much rubbish they found in the local area. It really opened our eyes to the impact litter can have on our surroundings, and reminded us all of the importance of taking care of the places where we live, learn and play. The children showed fantastic teamwork and resilience, carefully collecting litter and making sure the community was left looking much cleaner and tidier. They worked brilliantly together and set a shining example of how even small actions can make a big difference to the environment. We would like to say a very big thank you to Mr. Grace for supporting the event and keeping spirits high throughout the morning. We are also extremely grateful to Barnsley Norse, who kindly released a member of staff to lend a hand and provided all of the litter pickers and bag holders. Without their generosity and support, this project would not have been possible. This was not only a fantastic way for our pupils to learn about the importance of looking after the environment, but also a chance for them to feel proud of making a positive impact in their community. They are true eco-heroes, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. Well done, Year 4 Comments are closed.
