Today, we have been completing a scientific experiment to see which weighs more out of an inflated balloon or a deflated balloon. We initially made our predictions and then we worked ingroups of 3 to try to attempt to work out this investigation. We used a coat hanger as a balancing scale. We ensure that we kept it a fair test by having the same amount of string and sellotape on both sides of the coat hanger. That way, we would only be measuring the actually weight of the balloons. In the end, we found out that the balloon which was inflated weighed more because air is not a "nothing" and does actually hold weight. This is why we can feel the wing and how hang gliders are able to stay in the air.
