Friday 20th September is World Cleanup Day. To support this we have partnered with Barnsley Norse to join their volunteering initiative designed to improve local areas. We completed a litter pick in our local area supported by staff from school and a member of the Barnsley Norse team. This provided an excellent opportunity for the children to support the improvement of their community and local area and we are grateful to the Norse team for inviting us to participate in the project. We collected an amazing (and worrying) 14 bags of litter and the children commented that they could not believe how much litter they had found and picked up. There were a few members of our local community who even stopped us to say thank you for our hard work. The children in Year 4 need to proud of what they achieved and also Miss MacKay would like to thank them for their excellent conduct and behaviour whilst out in the community. This was the first time that Mr Grace had ever accompanied children on a 'school trip' and he has said that he had a brilliant time and would also like to thank the Year 4 children for inviting him to join them.
