Today, we have been learning about programming. We have been looking at writing different commands to produce different outputs. At home, please ask the children what the following code stands for:

Today, we started to create some numbers. This was our first attempt and it was a great start. Next week, we will be looking at letters and then progressing the week after to using some repeating patterns. 

Today, Year 4 started their masterpieces in DT. We have put into practice all of the skills that we have been learning. We have applied our knowledge of running stitch, back stitch and whip stitch. We have also looked at embellishments such as buttons and different stitches. Finally, we are looking at whether we are going to include buttons or press studs. Once the pencil cases have been finished, we will upload some photographs of the final creations. We were very lucky to be supported by our headteacher and "sewing machine" Miss MacKay.

We have finally arrived back! I would just like to send out my thanks to all of our pupils. We have had nothing but positive remarks from all of the staff at Kingswood. They honestly could not believe just how well-behaved our children are. Thank you again and we will see you all on Monday!

Welcome from Dearne Valley for day two of our adventure! The children are quite tired today but have all persevered in their efforts with all of the activities. There have been some absolute superstars today who have pushed themselves to their limits. They are really enjoying themselves and it is great to see so many smiles on faces. They will all be shattered tomorrow when you collect so expect early nights for them all! 

Hello from Dearne Valley 2025!

I would just like to check in with all of the nervous adults at home and say that so far, the children are having a wonderful time. We have all settled in, unpacked our suitcases and "made" our beds. We have already had 3 separate members of staff commend the behaviour of our children and that makes all of our staff feel extremely proud. We will try to keep uploading as many photographs as possible but this initial blog has taken over an hour due to poor connections and problems with uploading photographs so please bear with us!
