In maths this week we have been counting to 100. On Wednesday we had a practical lesson, involving counting how many jumps/star jumps we could do in 30 seconds as well as counting different sets of objects. We worked out it was a lot easier to count a group of objects if we lined them up or put them into groups.
Our art topic this half term is all about collage and we have been focusing on seaside holidays for inspiration. On Friday we explored how to create texture in our artwork by sticking materials such as sand, cotton wool and tissue paper onto our artwork. The children had a lovely time experimenting with the different textures and tried so hard to be careful and precise with their creations. Well done Year 2! Our Maths unit at the moment is focusing on numbers from 10 to 100. This week we have been showing our understanding of multiples of ten, their names and numerals. We wrote numerals and their number names and then matched them with base 10 apparatus (ten sticks). Mrs Ellis was very impressed with our knowledge of counting in tens and how we worked with our partners. |
