Year 2 have been looking at the composition of 2-digit numbers and how they are made up of tens and ones.
Today the children worked in pairs using Base 10 apparatus to make different numbers from 20-99. They also made number sequences by adding tens or ones and looked at the pattens that were created.
Lastly, they used 3 different digit cards, 3, 0 and 6, to make as many different 2-digit numbers as they could. The children were able to explain why ‘0’ could not be used in the tens place on a 2-digit number.
