Year 2 have been busy developing their sewing skills and creativity by making their very own hand puppets! First, the children practised using a running stitch, carefully sewing around the edges of their puppets using the pre-punched holes. They showed great concentration, perseverance and determination as they learned this new skill and worked hard to keep their stitches neat and even. Once the sewing was complete, the children became designers! They used felt pieces to create unique features for their puppets, carefully cutting out eyes, mouths, teeth, horns, ears and other decorations. Every puppet is completely different, reflecting the children's wonderful imaginations and creative ideas. We were incredibly impressed by how independently the children worked, as well as the care and effort they put into their projects. It was lovely to see them so proud of their finished creations. We think the hand puppets look absolutely fantastic and we are sure you will agree! Well done, Year 2, for your hard work, resilience and creativity. |
