Year 2 have been reading the story, "Mr Wolf's Pancakes, and using it to inspire our writing. Today, we acted out a conversation between Mr Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. The children's acting was brilliant and really made us laugh with their great voice choices. Next, the children wrote the conversations into speech bubbles. They were asked to write different sentence types - statements, questions, exclamations and commands - including the correct punctuation and were also challenged to include a conjunction! I'm sure you'll agree that they've produced some fantastic examples. As part of this term's topic, Year 2 have been learning about Mary Seacole. The children have worked hard and have been really interested in finding out all about her and her life. They have presented their work in different ways and are very proud of their efforts. To find out more about Mary Seacole and her work in the Crimean War, you might like to watch these three videos. The children certainly enjoyed them.
