Writing 
This week we all got very special new books, they have proper handwriting lines to help us get out writing looking just perfect. We have continued using the story Dinosaurs in the Supermarket to inspire us. 
Maths 
This week we have re-caped some previous learning. We have practiced counting objects and using ordinal numbers to describe somethings position. 
Wider curriculum 
Its show time! We have been practicing our Christmas performance songs in class but now the stage is up and its time to rehearse. Here is a little look at our set up. We're all really excited!  

Writing
This week we have been learning to spell using the suffix -ing. We have been reading the story Dinosaurs in the Supermarket to inspire our sentences. We have learnt that when you add -ing to a word it changes the words meaning to describe what someone or something is doing.
Maths 
We have been learning about how to break up a whole in to different parts and are beginning to learn how to represent this on a part whole model. 
Wider curriculum 
We have started a new history topic about toys. We have begun this by sharing what toys we have now and  why we enjoy them. 

We have also begun making our calendars to take home at Christmas, here is a sneak peak at what we're making! 

Welcome back everyone! We've had a fantastic first week back after and nice relaxing half term. Look at what we've been up to! 
Writing 
We have been reading the story The Tiger Who Came to Tea. Its a fantastic book that we're al really familiar with from Bear cubs. We've been using the story this week to learn a new spelling rule, using the suffix -s. Its been a tricky rule to learn but we're starting to understand. 

Maths 
We have been learning about using language to compare height, length, weight and capacity. Everyone worked really hard and was able to learn to so many new words! 

Wider curriculum 
We started a new art unit this half term, working with clay to build our own sculptures. We began our first lesson by practicing some different techniques for modeling the clay with our hands. We found this really tricky, clay is so much harder than play dough! But we still had a great time.
