Happy half term!

25/10/2024

Well done to year 1 for completing your first half term!
Everyone has worked so hard this half term and achieved so much so we decided we have earned a treat afternoon!
We all made plans for Halloween things we would like to make, we decided to make wands, spiders, skeletons and have a pumpkin designing contest!
Have a great half term and a happy Halloween!

Cops and Robbers!

7/10/2024

In our writing lessons last week we practiced writing sentences about Grandma Swag so that we could make a wanted poster for her.
Grandma Swag stole lots of toys at Christmas and managed to run away from the Cops, we just knew we had to do something to help catch her.

We worked really hard practicing sentences all week and we were finally ready to make our posters. Everyone did their neatest handwriting and made sure to include lots of details on the picture. We included her black had, glasses, blue stripy shirt and her walking stick!
Then it was time to put the posters up, we split up and made sure to put a poster up everywhere in school.
We left our posters up over the weekend and hoped that they would help. Today we had a surprise visit from Miss Mackay which was all very exciting. She told us that she had also had a surprise visit, from the police! With the help of our wanted posters the police have managed to catch Grandma Swag, they were so grateful for our help they even sent us all a certificate. We could not believe it!

Local Area Walk!

4/10/2024

Today to support our Topic lessons we went on a walk around our local area. During our walk we were on the look out for key locations we've been learning about. We were also trying to spot all the different types of houses we have learnt about.
We all took with us a sheet to record everything we want to find.
Everyone's behavior on the trip was absolutely fantastic. Everyone listened to all instructions and were very sensible when crossing roads.
Well done Year 1!
