Writing:
This week we have been writing about the story Cookies Week which is all about a cheeky cat that gets himself in lots of trouble throughout the week. We've been re-writing different days in the story and even coming up with what Cookie might do on another day. We've been using this to practice spelling the days of the week correctly. Math's: We have begun learning about addition using a part whole model and other visual structures so that we can clearly understand the relationship between two parts and the whole. We've all found this a little bit tricky and something new to learn but have all worked very hard! Velentines day: We had a fun afternoon for our last day before half term. We talked about Valentines day and the people we wanted to show we loved them. We all made a valentines day and chose someone to give it too. We then spent the rest of the afternoon doing lots of fun valentines activities like coloring, acrostic poems, bracelet making and creating a heart owl. Today we celebrated NSPCC number day! We began our day by learning about NSPCC number day and why we were celebrating it, we all felt very proud to have given money to help out other children. We then spent our morning learning more about money, we learnt where money comes from and how it takes hard work to earn. We all chose a job that we would like to do and learnt how much money we would earn in our pretend job! After this we learnt about choosing what to spend our money on between things we needed and things we wanted. We first spent money on the things we needed then saw how much we had left for a treat! We spent the afternoon taking part in lots of fun activities, we could choose:
- Number collage - number fan design -Number blocks games -Number blocks colouring - Addition and subtraction hide and seek We had a fabulous afternoon which everyone thoroughly enjoyed! |
