KS1 and KS2 Morning Sessions
Our mornings are devoted to building strong foundations in the core subjects: reading, writing and maths. We believe these skills open the door to all other learning.
Children begin their reading journey with the Read Write Inc. (RWI) programme and once they have completed this, they move on to our school’s own reading curriculum. Writing and maths are taught daily, giving every child the chance to grow in confidence and make steady progress.
If you’d like to know more, all of our curriculum documents for reading, writing and maths are available in the Curriculum section of our website.

Afternoon Sessions
In the afternoons, children enjoy a broad and balanced wider curriculum. Every subject is carefully planned, with clear progression, and details for each subject can be found in the Curriculum section of our website. Each class also follows its own timetable, showing which lessons take place on which days, so that pupils experience the full range of exciting learning opportunities across the week.
Assemblies
Assemblies are delivered at 9:15am in the morning. These take place after registration and our journalling and morning reflection session.
Monday : Whole School - One Life Assembly
This assembly is an introduction to the teaching and learning that will be completed in the One Life lesson in class that week. It provides a weekly opportunity to remind children of the core principles that drive the One Life programme. This assembly is delivered by Miss MacKay
Tuesday : Key Stage 1 Assembly
Wednesday : Key Stage 2 Assembly
These assemblies are delivered by Mrs Ellis (Key Stage 1) and Miss Smith (Key Stage 2).
