This week our focus story is about a hen and a fox, 'Rosie's Walk' - the fox keeps trying to pounce on Rosie the hen. We've also read other stories with hen and fox characters and it seems to us the fox is always sly! So, in construction and small world we've been making traps for the fox and houses for the hen. We've also made our school safe by putting up WANTED posters of the fox!

This morning we made the most of the overnight snow and got our waterproofs, wellies, hats and gloves on and went out to explore the snow.

We've been learning about the word 'squelchy' and what better way to understand than feel it so we made jelly in class then tipped it out and splattered it and squashed our fingers in it. It definitely fely squelchy and these are some of the other words we used too; slimy, cold, like lava, like jam, soft, lovely, jammy, fruity, like blood. Everyone had a go and loved it!
