This week, we have continued to learn about dinosaurs and much of our creative play has involved dinosaurs. In DT, we learnt how to use a split pin to swivel a join using a dinosaur's neck attached to its body.
In Maths, we have been learning to share equally, but we have learnt not all numbers can be shared equally; some have an odd one and these are the odd numbers. We have also learnt that sharing between two is halving. This week we have been reading a new focus text 'The girl and the dinosaur'. This has led to some fantastic dinosaur creative play. In the story, a girl finds dinosaur bones on the beach so we have used resources to make dinosaur skeletons. We have also been archaeologists in the sand finding bones, building piers in construction and creating magical island collages. The children's level of focus and creativity has been huge - just like dinosaurs themselves.
Our learning this week has focused around our key text 'The Incredible Hotel'. Children have been incredibly focused in their play; building hotels and bridges, making concoctions and creating menus. Also, can you spot the Bear Cub who can throw a ball HIGH into the air and move with his scoop racket to catch!
