Pumpkins!

Today we explored a pumpkin. Before cutting it we all had a feel. We used our strong muscles to lift the heavy pumpkin! Its skin was smooth and shinny.
Next was time to chop off the lid. The pumpkin was quite smelly, some of us thought it smelt like oranges but most of us didn't like the smell.
Inside the pumpkin was full of seeds! We all had  go a putting our hand inside and pulling out some of the seeds. It was really slimy and slippery! We continued until the pumpkin was nice and empty.
We saved all of the seeds and put them to dry ready to use for something creative. Then the pumpkin was carved in the design of our contest winner!

We have been practicing a song about hedgehogs as we have been thinking about Autumn and the changes it causes. Hedgehogs like to gather up the leaves that fall from the trees in Autumn to make their homes warmer.
Please enjoy our song!

This week we have been painting Autumn trees. We started off with brown paint to do the tree trunk, next we added the roots and the branches. We then used red, yellow and orange to add some leaves to the branches and the floor.
Everyone has worked very hard, look how amazing they turned out!

We have been reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears, today we all tasted our own porridge. First we had a look at the ingredients we would need, we were surprised that the porridge oats we so dry! After that we all sat together chose a topping and tucked in! We could pick from jam, chocolate sauce and golden syrup to have as a topping.
